India, led by Rohit Sharma, will seek a victory when they face Sri Lanka for the first of three T20 Internationals in Cuttack on Wednesday. With the Test and ODI series in its pocket, India will look for another dominant performance and will also look for the T20 series. Without the services of Captain Virat Kohli, India did not have a dream start in its ODI series campaign in Dharamsala, but it recovered in style when backup captain Sharma took the attack to the opposition with his intrepid batting. Having scored a double-third-century record in ODI, the Indian starter will also seek to seal the T20I series. (Live Scorecard)
Like their home series, Sri Lanka has been largely overtaken by India, with the exception of their brilliant bowling performance in Dharamsala ODI, which left the Indian batsmen widely exposed in sewing conditions. Sri Lanka had its best chances in the last ODI in Vizag, but it collapsed after Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav got three orders each. However, T20 is a different ball game and India would look for a smooth transition to the shorter format, having suffered a hitting disaster on the first day.
