IPL 2019 Schedule For First Two Weeks Announced, CSK To Play RCB In Opener On March 23


IPL 2019 calendar for the first two weeks has been announced, Chennai Super Kings will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match on March 23.

Indian Premier League (IPL) launched the calendar for the first two weeks, during which 17 games will be played, from the 12th season of the Twenty20 league, rich in cash. Under the MS Dhoni captaincy, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) led by Virat Kohli in the opening match of IPL 2019 on March 23. Still subject to announcement of Lok Sabha 2019 election dates. The Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) will address any issues, if they arise within the first two weeks of the league, and will prepare a schedule for the rest of the season. The board will work closely with local authorities around the voting dates. “This is still subject to the announcement of the election dates of Lok Sabha 2019. Once the election dates are published, we will address any problems during the first two weeks and also prepare a calendar” for the rest of the season working with the local authorities on the voting dates, “the IPL said in a statement on Tuesday.

During this two-week period, a total of 17 matches will be played in the eight venues of the respective IPL franchises.

Each team will play a minimum of four games with Delhi Capitals and five games with Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Each team will play a minimum of two home games and two away games with Delhi Capitals playing three home games, while Royal Challengers Bangalore will play three away games.
