US captain Josh Sargent scored the opening goal of the game with a 31-minute penalty. India improved their lead game after coming down, but despite some good passes, could not find the killer ball. Defender Chris Durkin doubled the US lead.  In the minute 51, while Andrew Carleton scored the third to put the brightness on the scoreboard.

As predicted coach Luis Norton de Matos, the United States made a wave of attacks throughout the game and India stayed to defend its citadel for most of the game. While the US had several opportunities, India only had a pair of clear look at the goal.
