Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.0 Oreo Update Rollout Resumes


The Android 8.0 Oreo update for Xiaomi Mi A1 was resumed after a brief suspension. But the company has now confirmed that the bugs have been fixed and that the deployment of the Mi A1 updates has resumed.

Xiaomi had started to implement the Android Oreo update for the My A1 smartphone on December 31 last year, only to temporarily remove it later. The new update comes with the compilation number OPR1.170623. and includes the Android security patch for January 2018.

For users who had installed the previous update, the new version is a download of 89 MB. However, if the smartphone runs Android Nougat, it is an update of 1,112 MB. With this update, it is said that Xiaomi solved several errors, such as the problem with Bluetooth battery consumption, the unresponsive dialer application, random reboots and more. In addition, the update is reportedly getting rid of the SIM HD notification, along with the recovery of fingerprint gestures.

Previously, users had reported that problems such as the marker and camera application were frozen, the fingerprint sensor and the recent application button became inactive, and a deceleration of the ambient light sensor. Even the Xiaomi Mi A1 battery was running out quickly when Bluetooth was activated. Meanwhile, Xiaomi had recognized at least one problem with the Android Oreo update. On one of the My Community forums, he said that users in India were suffering from problems with frozen bookmarks due to problems with the MyJio application in My A1. The company suggested that affected users can uninstall the MyJio application or ‘disable telephone permission’.

The Mi A1 is the first smartphone in the Mi series to receive the Android Oreo update.
