The iPhone X went on sale in India with huge queues visible outside of Apple’s authorized dealers in Delhi-NCR and in Mumbai. Gadgets 360 witnessed the first-hand queues of an Apple reseller in Mumbai’s Lower Parel, as well as Vasant Kunj of Delhi on Friday night, with reports from most retail stores across the country witnessing similar scenes .
The retail availability of iPhone X India started at 6pm IST, with dozens of people queuing outside stores hours before that time to be the first to access the smartphone.
“We were awake from 6 in the morning to drive here, since we thought 12 [noon] was the time of delivery, we did not know it was 6 [pm],” said Ayush, who drove to Delhi from Dehradun with his friend this last one could have in his hands an iPhone X of 256 GB in the first day. “Now there are more than 12 hours, of which 7 hours of travel and 5-6 hours of waiting, finally, I think it’s worth the wait, as always, we are absolutely Apple lovers and we are more than happy to receive it.”
Of course, as it has been endlessly reported from (and even before) the launch of the smartphone, the supply probably will not match the demand and the tenth anniversary of Apple will leave many potential buyers disillusioned, and almost certainly those without prior reservations .
A retailer in South Delhi told Gadgets 360 that only those who booked their smartphone in advance could take it back on launch day on Friday, and everyone else could “forget” it for the next 3-4 days, at least .
