Google Pixel 2 gets its first big discount since its launch in October in India. The smartphone will be available at an effective price of 39,999 rupees during Flipkart’s Big Shopping Days. Pixel 2 is Google’s latest flagship smartphone and was launched in India at a retail price of Rs 61,000.
During the Big Shopping Days that will be held from December 7 to December 9, Flipkart offers a fixed discount of 11,001 rupees in Pixel 2. In addition, buyers of Pixel 2 also get an additional discount of 10,000 in payments by credit card or debit. The Indian giant of e-commerce also offers up to 18,000 rupees in foreign currency and a repurchase guarantee of up to 36,500 rupees to exchange the smartphone later.
With the discounted price, Flipkart is also having a subtle dig in OnePlus 5T, which is available exclusively with its competitor Amazon India. Flipkart says it’s a no-brainer when it comes to selecting between OnePlus 5T and Google Pixel 2. With Rs 39,999, Google Pixel 2 becomes an attractive alternative to OnePlus 5T, which until now has been considered the best smartphone in the sub -Rs 40k. segment. The biggest selling point of Pixel 2 is the double pixel camera, which is said to be considerably better than that of OnePlus 5T.
The Google Pixel 2 is largely similar to last year’s Pixel with small design settings like a smaller glass window on the back and the rear fingerprint sensor aligned seamlessly with the metal body. It has a 5-inch AMOLED Full HD screen and works with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. The smartphone comes with 4 GB of RAM and an internal storage option of 64 GB or 128 GB. The discount seems to be applicable only in the 64 GB model, based on the text of the offer.
It has a 12MP single-pixel rear camera with double pixel, which Google uses to produce the portrait mode effect. Google has also added optical image stabilization along with electronic image stabilization for better images in low light. There is an 8MP front camera with 1.4 micron pixels and support for vertical mode that uses automatic learning to blur the background.
Google Pixel 2 runs Android 8.0 Oreo with the latest security patches and you will get a guaranteed software update for three years. The smartphone is backed by a 2700 mAh battery and supports a fast charge through the USB port type C. It has a cost of Rs 61,000 for the 64GB variant and Rs 70,000 for the 128GB model. The phone will be available in Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue colors, and it is a no-brainer if your purchase decision is based on the dexterity of the smartphone’s camera.
