Device World Leadership Awards 2017: Samsung Galaxy S8 is the Smartphone of the year – Premium


Samsung, the star device of this year, the Galaxy S8, has been awarded as ‘Smartphone of the year’ in the premium category during the Device World 2017 conference. The smartphone obtained the maximum votes in the Consumer Devices Survey 2017, which was jointly launched by The Mobile Indian and TeleAnalysis.

The national survey was conducted taking into account feedback from users of Indian consumer devices in five areas – east, west, north, south and center – of the country. The sample size was more than 1.5 lakh that covers 30 cities. The Samsung Galaxy S8 was rated as the preferred device in the premium smartphone category.

The award was presented at Device World 2017 by Rajan Mathews, General Director of the Association of Cellular Operators of India (COAI). The event counted with the participation of the main consumer brands in the country and prominent representatives of the industry such as Sunil Dutt, president, devices, Reliance Jio; P Sanjeev, Josh Foulger, MD, Foxconn India, vice president of sales, Huawei, Vikas Agarwal, general manager, OnePlus, Sanjay Kalirona, general manager, Comio, Suneet Singh Tuli, co-founder, DataWind shared their views and ideas during the event .

To recall some key specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Infinity Quad HD (2960 x 1440 pixels) screen that curves on both sides. The phone has a screen aspect ratio of 18: 9. The Galaxy S8 comes with the Exynos 8895 chipset, which is an Octa-Core processor with 2.3 GHz speed in Korea. In addition to this, the device includes 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via a microSD card.

On the front of the camera, the Galaxy S8 is equipped with a 12 megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology and aperture f / 1.7 and an 8 megapixel front camera with smart autofocus and aperture f / 1.7.MP F1.7 Autofocus Smart front camera.

The smartphone works with Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.
