Commemorating the 10 years of the FZ series, India Yamaha Motor has presented the new motorcycle FZ-S FI in the country with a new paint scheme, body graphics and the option of a rear disc brake as well. The 2018 Yamaha FZ-S FI is priced at ₹ 86,042 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The FZ-S is one of the most popular sellers in the 150-160 cc segment and is now more equipped to compete with the Suzuki Gixxer, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and the Honda CB Hornet 160R. The bicycle is now also available in the new Armada Blue paint scheme.

The Yamaha FZ-S 2018 now uses a unique hydraulic rear disc brake of 220 mm, in addition to the front disc brake of 282 mm for more effective control. While cosmetic changes are not abundant, the motorcycle has an alloy sports wheel design along with a completely new mirror design.

Speaking about the launch, Yamaha Motor India – Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Roy Kurian said: “The legacy of Yamaha’s FZ series in India revolves around the heritage of a unique passion for motorcycling.” Immensely popular among cyclists Indians, almost 10 years after its launch in India and having won more than a million hearts, was crowned as the “lord of the streets” by the collective culture of motorcycling in the country. fuel mileage and suspension, new additions will excite current and new customers. ”

The engine is coupled to a 5-speed transmission. The Yamaha engine also comes with Blue Core technology to achieve greater fuel efficiency on the bike.

The suspension tasks are performed with telescopic forks in the front and a monoshock configuration in the rear. The theme of muscular design continues to be a strong point in the FZ-S and was one of the first bicycles in the segment to have fuel injection as standard.

While the FZ-S receives a smooth update for 2018, Yamaha India is expected to introduce the new generation of the YZF-R15 later this year, possibly at Auto Expo. The model will be a complete revision and it is expected that it will also have some first characteristics of the segment. The 2018 Auto Expo could also see the updated R3 making its debut.
