Berhampur: The total number of patients undergoing treatment at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur after having tested positive for dengue has increased to 10.
According to sources, most Ganjam residents work in other states. Medical authorities suspect that they contract the disease while working in other states.
“Although Ganjam is the native place of all the patients, they were working out of the state, but after being affected by dengue, they are being admitted to MKCG,” said the chief medical officer of the district (CDMO), Sadananda Mishra.
Also patients with dengue from Andhra Pradesh are admitted to MKCG. Meanwhile, a dengue patient from Ichhapur, in Andhra Pradesh, died on Sunday, according to reports.
