SRINAGAR: In a pre-Dwan attack, at least two heavily armed terrorists stormed a Central Reserve Police force or a CRPF training center in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, wounding 3 people, a senior official said.
The terrorists threw grenades and opened fire before opening a breach in the perimeter of the training center of the 185th Battalion of the CRPF in Pulwama, about 30 km from Srinagar. An armed battle between the terrorists and the security forces was underway when the latest reports arrived.
The incident occurred around 2:10 a.m. in Lethpora.
In an attack similar to the CRPF in August, eight security personnel lost their lives when terrorists attacked a police complex in Pulwama district. The three terrorists who launched the suicide attack were killed after an intense shooting that lasted more than 12 hours.
Two months later, three suicide bombers carrying a huge arsenal of pistols and explosives stormed a Border Security Force (BSF) field near the Srinagar airport before dawn and opened fire, killing a soldier.
The three terrorists died after almost 10 hours of armed confrontation. A unit of the Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed calling itself the “Afzal Guru squadron” claimed the attack.
