Place of election part of the “Look to the East” plan of BJP.

Despite a setback in Karnataka, the BJP is keen to push forward its “Look to the East” plan by celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Modi government in Cuttack on May 26.

Preparations are underway to organize a massive public meeting in the city that will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The president of Odisha BJP, Basanta Panda, and the head of the party, Arun Singh, inspected the preparations at the historic site of Bali Yatra on Sunday.

After the BJP’s performance in Nagaland and Tripura, party chairman Amit Shah had said that his golden age would begin only when he achieved power in West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka and Kerala.

During his visits to the previous State, Mr. Shah had said that the party would win more than 120 of the 147 seats in the Assembly in Odisha in the 2019 elections.

The state leaders of the BJP have said that Mr. Modi had chosen Cuttack to share the achievements of his government over the past four years, since Odisha was a key State in the Prime Minister’s development agenda.
