BJP involved in mass duplication of voter entries in Madhya Pradesh, claims Congress

Mumbai: Sunday’s Congress affirmed that the BJP was involved in the massive doubling of voter entries in the Madhya Pradesh electoral lists for the election of the Assembly, 2019.

Blaming the BJP government in the state for alleged irregularities in the state’s voter lists, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia questioned how the number of voters increased by 40% when the population in the state only increased by 24% in the last 10 years.

“This has been done by the BJP How is it possible that the population has increased by 24% in 10 years, but the number of voters increased by 40%? We analyzed the list in all the electoral districts, 1 voter is registered in 26 lists, there are similar cases in other places too, “Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia was quoted as saying by the ANI news agency.

The head of the State Congress Committee of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath, said: “We have provided evidence to the Electoral Commission that there are approximately 60 lakhs of registered fake voters on the voters list, these names have been deliberately registered in the list. Ye prashasanik laparvaahi nahi prashasanik durupyog hai (This is not an administrative oversight, but the misuse of administration). ”

Congress demanded that the Electoral Commission prepare new electoral lists after eliminating all duplicate entries and that direct election officials submit an affidavit and a certificate verifying all entries.

The party has also asked the voting panel to take action against all those officers who have breached their official duties and instigated the preparation of adulterated electoral lists.
