BJP demands second capital of Andhra Pradesh in Rayalaseema

The leaders of the Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are set to demand the second state capital shortly after the Rayalaseema agitation to establish the AP High Court in the region. A meeting was held in the city of Kurnool on the resolution on the demands presented by the leaders. The leader of the BJP demanded that there be an immediate announcement by party chairman Telugu Desam Party (TDP) N Chandrababu Naidu about the formation of the second capital in Rayalaseema with all administrative offices, including a secretariat, a state assembly, the residence of the CM and a Raj Bhavan. There should also be an assembly session in Rayalaseema once every six months as it is done in Maharashtra, says the “Raylaseema declaration” that was adopted in Kurnool at the Rayalaseema BJP leaders’ convention under the leadership of the secretary general of the state S Suresh Reddy and member of the national committee Shanta Reddy.

A meeting chaired by S Vishnuvardhan Reddy, the state president of the BJP youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) approved 15 resolutions. Reddy blamed the TDP government led by Chandrababu Naidu has always ignored Rayalaseema and has not taken good care of the region. If the government continues to deny us, we will have no choice but to demand a separate state from Rayalaseema, “a leader told TNIE.

He added that the government made many promises to the people of Rayalaseema, but none came into action. The leaders stated that the state government allocates Rs 20, ooo crore from the State Budget to the Rayalaseema region. “You should rethink the Rayalaseema Development Board with the allocation of Rs 20,000 crore,” said one leader during the meeting, while stating that all pending irrigation projects will be completed to address the water shortage in the states affected by the drought.
