Bengaluru echoed slogans Tuesday when thousands of people who had slept with journalist Gauri Lankesh in a life of social activism marched together to condemn his murder exactly a week ago.
Lankesh, who was also dubbed an anti-right vocal activist, was shot dead by strangers as she entered her residence in the city on 5 September. The state government has formed a special investigative team to investigate the case.
The rally started from Sangrani Rayanna Krantiveera station in the heart of the city and culminated in the floor of the Central School, where a convention was held. The slogan ‘I am Gauri’ was lifted along.
