6 Dead, Several Injured as 9 Coaches of Delhi-Bound Seemanchal Express Derail in Bihar



Six people died and another 14 were injured after nine coaches of Seemanchal Express  headed to Delhi derailed today in Vaishali Bihar at 3.52 a. M. According to reports, several people are injured. The office of the Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal, tweeted that rescue and relief operations began after the derailment of the nine coaches of the Seemanchal Express Terminal in Jogbani-Anand Vihar in Sahadai Buzurg, Bihar.

Rescue operations are underway and aid line numbers have been issued, the Ministry of Railways said. “Rescue and relief operations are underway for the derailment of 9 coaches from the Seemanchal Jogbani-Anand Vihar Terminal express in Sahadai Buzurg, Bihar,” he tweeted Piyush Goyal’s office.

Among the nine coaches who derailed, three are sleeper coaches: S8, S9, S10, a general coach, an AC B3 coach, said East Central Railway spokesman Rajesh Kumar. A team of doctors has been sent from the nearby towns of Sonpur and Barauni to the scene of the accident.
