I was not ready.
As someone who has attended countless parades and high school fashion shows, when I accepted an invitation to cover the annual Henry W. Grady High School fashion show on behalf of The Glow Up, I prepared for the usual fundraiser from school.
But this was not a fad night of shopping centers covered with neophyte models. The “Une Belle Revolution” Fashion Show 2018 by Grady exhibited one of the few, if not only, comprehensive high school fashion programs in the country. Everything, from high fashion evening clothes to urban chic, was handmade by 17 and 18 year olds with technical and creative competence that are usually found in people who have spent years in the fashion industry.
