Deepika Padukone: Why does Bollywood’s most talented actress have no films in her kitty?

That Deepika Padukone is one of the most talented and coveted actresses in Bollywood, is not news. But why has not he signed a single film after the masterpiece of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmaavat, who crossed the Rs 500 crore mark around the world?

He was supposed to start filming Vishal Bhardwaj’s mafia drama, ‘Sapna Didi’ this year, but unfortunately the film had to be postponed due to the health condition of his co-star Irrfan Khan. And now, the actor has absolutely no movie in his kitty.

Several theories have been circling about why Deepika has not signed a single movie despite the avalanche of offers that came after her last release. While some say that she is waiting for her back and neck injury to recover completely, others claim that she is keeping her dates free for her wedding as discussed with boyfriend Ranveer Singh.

But, it turns out that none of this is true. “Her back / neck problem is being adequately taken care of and she will be very soon … As for the marriage plans, they do not affect her career in any way … The reason why Deepika is not signing anything new is because of the quality of the It’s all great movies with main heroes, but nothing remotely supported by author or inspiration such as Padmaavat At this stage in her career, Deepika is no longer content to play the main character, it has to be a script that offer as much to do as the male protagonist, “said a source close to the actress Deccan Chronicle.

This sounds credible because in a recent interview with the famous film critic Anupama Chopra, Deepika spoke about the scarcity of good scripts in Hindi cinema. She expressed the desire to make a cheerful comedy. But, it’s not just about scripts. Apparently, no large producer is willing to offer Deepika the kind of money she is asking for.

“He has officially gone to claim that he was paid more than the main man in Padmaavat,” said the source, “such big banners as Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions are not willing to pay him that amount of money.”
